WBUR Promotions Team
Do you love public radio? Do you enjoy attending special events and festivals? Would you like to have some marketing experience on your resume? Join the WBUR Promotions Team!
In this role you will assist with promoting and staffing WBUR live productions and sponsored events. This includes distributing promotional materials and swag, engaging with listeners, and helping the Community Engagement team execute successful events. We will ask for your opinions and input to help shape our marketing efforts and the future of WBUR.
The hours for this role are flexible and would require that you sign up to help with one to three events per semester. Most events are in the evenings on weekdays and will take about 4 hours of your time to help set up, enjoy the show, and sometimes assist with loading out after the event. Some sponsorship events take place on the weekends. Scheduling will be done as far in advance of events as possible, and we will work with you to make sure we can find opportunities that do not conflict with your other work and school commitments. All members of the promotions team are required to volunteer for at least one shift during WBUR fundraisers.
This is a volunteer position, but it does come with perks! You will be invited to attend many of our WBUR events and may request free tickets to The Moth StorySLAM. WBUR produces everything from intimate forums at the station for 75 people, to productions like The Moth Mainstage with 1,500 attendees, and everything in between.
