To celebrate the 45th anniversary of Title IX, WBUR, in partnership with the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University, will host a conversation about the impact of Title IX and the work that remains to be done when it comes to equality and sports. Robin Young, co-host of Here & Now will introduce the evening Sports and Society reporter Shira Springer will moderate the panel discussion featuring:
- Swin Cash, director of player development, New York Liberty; WNBA champion (2003, 2006, and 2010); Olympic gold medalist in women’s basketball (2004 and 2012); NCAA Champion (University of Connecticut, 2000 and 2002)
- Maura Healey, attorney general, Commonwealth of Massachusetts; former college and professional basketball player
- Angela Ruggiero, member of the International Olympic Committee; Olympic gold medalist (1998), silver medalist (2002 and 2010), and bronze medalist (2006) in women’s ice hockey; four-time gold medalist and seven-time silver medalist, Women’s World Ice Hockey Championships; national champion, American Women’s College Hockey Alliance (Harvard, 1999); cofounder and managing director, Sports Innovation Lab
