What's At Stake For Women's Health Care

As the Senate considers a lifetime appointment for a new justice to the U.S. Supreme Court, the Edward M. Kennedy Institute will gather leaders and policymakers to discuss the state of reproductive rights and what’s at stake for women’s health care access in the Commonwealth and across the nation. Carey Goldberg, editor of CommonHealth, will moderate this panel discussion which will address the significance of the Massachusetts legislature’s recent repeal of antiquated state abortion laws, the implications of proposed federal changes to Title X funding for health care providers and how policy makers and advocacy organizations are preparing for the changing makeup of the Supreme Court.

Panelists include:

• Marylou Sudders, Massachusetts Health and Human Services Secretary

• Monica Valdes Lupi, Executive Director, Boston Public Health Commission

• Dr. Jennifer Childs-Roshak, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts and President of the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts
