Belmont World Film's 16th Annual Family Festival
WBUR is proud to be a media sponsor of Belmont World Film’s Family Festival, “Where Books Come Alive,” running for its 16th year from January 18-21 in Arlington, Belmont, and Cambridge. The festival offers nearly four days of some of the world’s best films for children and adults, as well as two live events. Films are screened in English or their native language with subtitles, which will be read aloud via headphones, and many are being screened in the US for the first time. It might even be your only time to see them in New England.
There are films about bird song in Brazil, the environment in Belgium, a determined 10 year-old girl in the Indian Himalayas, a superhero in Serbia, reality TV hopefuls from the Tibetan mountains of China, a magical train from Germany, and an underdog lacrosse team from North Carolina – not to mention a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and a whole program of films based on books by “Knuffle Bunny” author Mo Willems!
